Applications Engineer I - Motion Specialization
The ideal candidate will be self-starter, able to learn quickly in an ‘on the job’ training environment, have strong communication skills, and a strong grasp of Newtonian Physics, Statics, Dynamics, and basic Machine Design. Bachelor’s degree (BSME or BSEE preferred) in a technical discipline preferred, any industry related experience is a plus.
Application Engineers are responsible for providing first level pre-sale and post-sale technical support to customers and company sales staff for product and application related questions. Application Engineers work as a team with Product Managers, Field Account Managers, and Inside Sales, to provide solutions to each desired customer’s needs. The development of technical competence and application skills for the core products and product lines in assigned technology groups is critical to the position. The Motion Specialization AE will be responsible for identifying, sizing, selecting, and quoting single and multi-axis motion control solutions involving all motion technologies on our line card (mechanical positioners and components, robotics, gearboxes, servos, steppers, motion/machine controls, AC & DC drives and motors, feedback devices and value add services).
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support on assigned product lines.
- Assist sales associates with preparation of accurate bills of materials and quotations for products, systems, and technical services.
- Assist with the Demo process (build, dispatch, maintain) for use by other technical support staff, outside sales and customers.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key customers and suppliers.
- Develop and conduct product training / information sessions.
