2000 Series Rail Scale

Product Overview
Fairbanks’ 2000 Series is a pit-free, aboveground track scale that economically integrates with standard U.S. rail configurations. Safe, heavy-duty and built to last, the advanced design of this scale minimizes the length of scale needed to weigh rail cars. The 2000 Series features easy, cost-effective installation, advanced modular construction, hermetically sealed 110K rocker column load cells, and a Cooper E-80 design rating. Best of all, this scale is virtually maintenance-free after installation.
This scale meets all requirements of the Association of American Railroads and National Institute of Standards and Technology Handbook 44, and features Fairbanks’ exclusive Intalogix®Technology for advanced load cell performance and protection.
The precision measurement group at Cross Company has been working with truck scales in a range of applications since 1939. We have sales territories and local calibration laboratories across the U.S. so you can work with our local teams all the way through the process, from sale to your annual service. This ensures you not only get the right product, but maintain quality year after year. Contact our team to see if the Fairbanks Trident series is the best truck scale for your operation.
Features and Benefits
The 2000 Series’ streamline design drastically reduces expenses associated with building a traditional full-length rail scale. Set just below the rail, the 18 ½” end-wall height accommodates the 2000 Series’ low profile and provides ample access to load cells and electronics without the need for an expensive pit. Additionally, the modular nature of the 2000 Series minimizes the size of crane required for installation.
Reduced Maintenance and Operational Costs
Eliminating the underground pit from the scale design has tremendous advantages for rail scale operators looking to safely save time and money. Confined space regulations don’t apply to the 2000 Series, so up-time is rarely interrupted. Standard maintenance is safely, quickly, and easily accomplished above grade.
Sturdy, Modular Construction
By anchoring the rail directly on steel I-beam girders, the
2000 Series offers a sturdier platform than can be achieved by unsupported rail-spanning cross beams. Coupling the sturdy design with checking, to keep the platform square, the 2000
Series is a solid floating platform.
Reduced Construction Cost
The 2000 Series’ streamline design drastically reduces expenses associated with building a traditional full-length rail scale. Set just below the rail, the 18 Y:z” end-wall height accommodates the 2000 Series’ low profile and provides ample access to load cells and electronics without the need for an expensive pit.
Accurate Reliable Load Cells
The heart of the 2000 Series rail scale, this robust, all stainless, fully-electronic load cell has delivered reliable, accurate weighments for decades in the most demanding rail applications. It features air-tight protection from moisture through a true hermetic seal at the cable entry, an industry leading IP69K enclosure rating, and Armour Guard stainless cable jacketing to protect its conductors.
