Improve Efficiency with Checkweighing

plastics weighing

When you manufacture small parts, there is always a risk of sending too many or too few pieces to your customer. Unfortunately, counting small pieces by hand is not very reliable (and pretty boring). Counting scales are a great solution for this task, as you can calculate part weight and then simply place your parts on the scale to make sure you have the right amount.

If you are interested in improving efficiency with counting scales contact us today. We can help you find the right scale for your application. If you only need them once or twice a year for inventory, we also offer rental options!

Innovating the Industrial World

Finding reliable workers to handle the dull, dirty, and dangerous tasks in your plant can be difficult. Whether you need someone to pick and place items from one conveyor to another or need help palletizing at the end of your line, cobots might be a great solution.  However, there are a number of complexities to implementing cobots in your manufacturing environment.

Check out this episode of Cross’s podcast, Innovating the Industrial World. Our host and CEO John King sits down with Manan Banerjee and Mike Holland from our Automation Group to discuss the reasons companies big and small are using collaborative robots to automate manual processes. Learn about the ins and outs from engineers themselves to decide if a cobot is right for you.

Need to upgrade your CMM?

When precision is key, one of the most reliable ways to get precise dimensional measurements is with a CMM.

Cross is proud to announce that we are now a distributor for LK Metrology CMMs. Contact us today for a quote.

Did you know?

Cross Precision Measurement will be hosting Scan Your Part Workshop events in April. If you are in the Huntsville, Chattanooga, Raleigh, or Greenville areas we will have workshops in your area. Register and then come by your local calibration lab to have your part scanned using a Kreon Arm and scanner. It’s a great way to see if a portable CMM could help to improve your measurement process. Improve Efficiency

The quality and ease of use of your measurement software can make a big difference in the efficiency of your measurement process. Most likely, you are currently tied to using the manufacturer’s software that came with your equipment.

Metrologic offers a suite of 3D metrology software for industrial measurement processes. With Metrologic you can standardize your measurement equipment software making it easier to train employees.

As an added benefit of Metrologic is that you are no longer tied to your equipment manufacturer for calibration and service when something goes wrong.

Reduce Risk

If you are making parts with complex interior stuctures or mating parts, it can be difficult to check they are up to spec without destroying the part itself.

Cross can help you to reduce the risk of selling components with interior flaws. Our testing lab offers both X-ray and CT scanning so you can inspect your parts without destroying them. Contact us today to learn more about our capabilities.

Raise Quality

When manufacturing plastic parts quality control and measurement can be complex due to the malleable nature of your material. It’s likely you’ve investing in advanced measurement equipment to accomplish the needed inspections.

What if you’ve invested in this high tech measurement equipment but have employees who don’t know how to properly operate it? This can be a recipe for disaster.

Let us help! We have a team of measurement experts available to come onsite and train your team to use your measurement equipment. We want you to feel confident in the quality of your measurement data!
