Red Lion Protocol Converters

Red Lion Protocol Converters 1

Red Lion’s protocol converters allow you to connect different serial, Ethernet and fieldbus devices.  Their free and easy-to-use software, Crimson®, is used in all of Red Lion’s protocol converters and HMIs which enables you to collect data from industrial assets.  For example, a Siemens PLC can talk to an Allen Bradley drive in seconds with drag and drop register mapping.

The automation engineers at Cross Company can help determine the best configuration for your automation process. Contact our team to set up a discussion about your application to see which protocol converter is right for your operation.

Red Lion Protocol Converters

Red Lion offers a complete line of communication converters to connect disparate serial, Ethernet, and fieldbus devices with ease. Their solutions support over 300 industrial protocols, making communication seamless between devices from vendors like ABB, Emerson, Rockwell Automation, and Siemens. With the intuitive Crimson® software, integrating various systems has never been simpler, ensuring smooth data exchange and operational efficiency across your industrial network.

The Data Station has built in data, event and security loggers to record continuous data, events and alarms.  Data can be acquired from any or all connected devices and compiled into a single CSV-formatted file, where it can be stored, displayed, emailed or automatically synchronized with an FTP or Microsoft SQL server. The Data Station has up to three built-in serial ports and a 10/100Base-T(X) Ethernet port.  Up to 10 different Ethernet-based protocols are supported on the DA30D, enabling disparate TCP protocols to communicate with ease. Additional communication options include CAN, DeviceNet and Profibus, available for models with optional card or communications module support.

The FlexEdge platform, powered by Red Lion’s Crimson® software with over 300 drivers, offers seamless connectivity across various PLC brands and equipment with point-and-click ease. It prevents costly rip-and-replace scenarios by utilizing a modular sled architecture, allowing for easy integration of new communication technologies. Built for rugged industrial use, FlexEdge provides reliable protocol conversion, control, edge processing, and data visualization, even in extreme environments, thanks to its durable construction, wide operating temperature range, and comprehensive industrial certifications.
