Time for Your Truck Scale's Spring Cleaning!

Energy Industry Newsletter - March 2024 1

You are likely using your truck scale as the cash register for your facility, measuring raw materials coming in and finished product going out. However, as time passes your truck scale will provide less reliable measurements if it isn’t properly maintained. With spring upon us, it’s a great time to clean your scale and ensure proper functioning.

ISO17025 Accredited Calibration for the Energy Industry

Protect Your Tank from Damage with Groth Corporation’s Newest Valve

12F-TWW-0 model

The Groth Model 12F-TWW-0 Pressure/Vaccum Relief Valve with Pipe-Away design was crafted to exceed the typical industry needs. Through comprehensive research and development, Groth has developed and produced a product able to achieve both superior sealing performance as well as industry-leading flow rates.

And it’s able to do all of this while reducing the valve size and utilizing 10% overpressure technology, allowing customers to reach necessary flow rates. Further, the pressure vacuum relief valve component is designed to protect your tanks from potential damage associated with overpressure or excessive vacuum. It is also able to reduce the costly product evaporative losses associated with normal tank “breathing,” adding further value for end-users. The 12F-TWW-0 model is a superior sealing valve able to minimize fugitive emissions while also providing increased protection and safety to tank equipment and on-site personnel.

Raise Quality

Dräger Electrochemical (EC) sensors outperform other sensors in terms of longevity & accuracy. Their larger design, featuring a patented Teflon housing, enhances robustness. The specially formulated electrolyte, with a higher quantity, contributes to a longer life cycle and superior catalytic performance, allowing the sensor to withstand extreme environmental conditions that may incapacitate smaller competitor sensors.

rice lake rl101 below the hook scale

Improve Efficiency

The easy-to-use RL101 below-the-hook (BTH) digital scale is ideal for overhead weighing in industrial environments. This reliable BTH scale is fitted with an infrared remote control which can be configured as a remote keypad. The infrared remote control can be used at a distance up to 25 feet. This compact BTH scale reduces the lifting distance for increased safety. Manufactured in strict compliance with the highest safety standards, the RL101 scale continues to sustain a 5:1 Ultimate Safety Factor.

draeger metcam gas detection camera

Reduce Risk

The Dräger MetCam is an explosion-proof gas camera able to continuously monitor large areas for potential hazards such as methane leaks and fugitive emissions. The MetCam automatically determines the source of the leak and quantifies the intensity using advanced algorithms. It also transmits alarms via analog 4–20mA/HART or RS485 Modbus. Visualization is via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

Unlike with point detectors, the gas source doesn’t need to be in the immediate area of the camera. When the source is within the field of view of the camera, the MetCam is able to detect leaks and provide timely warnings. This gives facilities time to react, increasing the safety and efficiency of the facility as a whole.
