What Is A Thermowell?

A thermowell serves as a safeguarding cylindrical metal enclosure positioned within a liquid or gaseous medium within industrial processes. Its primary function is to shield sensitive temperature measurement instruments, such as resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) or thermocouples, from potential damage or corrosive elements in the process environment. This design also facilitates the convenient removal and replacement of the sensor without the need to stop the ongoing process.

What Are Thermowells Used For?
